Biography

Lucy Evans has been painting since she was a child. At fourteen, she studied at the Kyiv Children Academy of Fine Arts and graduated with a Master’s degree at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kiev in 2019.

After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, she fled to France, where she joined the studio of French artist Bruno Perramant. She is currently studying at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

The inspiration for her work comes from everyday life and nature. With a precise and sophisticated technique, her work combines modern and subtle references to art history and the old masters.

Her figurative paintings reflect strength through fragility. There is something mysterious and mystical about her works. She has learned that the most precious thing we have is our life.

She is now celebrating national and international success. Her artworks have already been exhibited in Paris, London, Basel, Kiev and New York and can be found in important collections such as the Taras Shevchenko National Museum in Beijing and the Christoph Merian Foundation in Basel.

In addition, one of her paintings won the prize for best figurative artwork of the year at the O. Murashko competition at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Kiev in 2016.
