Our programm:

From Form to Freedom: A Journey Through Artistic Evolution

This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to explore the evolution of 20th-century art through high-quality small-scale works by world-renowned, influential artists.

The collection presents a time-traveling experience, illustrating the dynamic transition from early Cubist-figurative painting to the realm of complete abstraction.

The journey begins with Cubism, a revolutionary movement that fragmented reality into geometric forms, represented with artworks by Pablo Picasso, André Lhote, Louis Marcoussis and August Macke.

The next phase focuses on the transition toward abstraction, a step further into the unknown. Through expressive color and simplified forms, the artists Jean Dubuffet and Albert Gleizes created works that emphasized emotional depth rather than literal representation.

The narrative of abstraction continues with pioneers like Jean Arp and Sonia Delaunay-Terk who sought to free art from its dependence on the visual world. In their small works, viewers will witness how the artist’s focus shifted from the external world to the inner realm of intuition, feeling, and consciousness.

Finally, the exhibition reaches the peak of abstraction with Abstract Expressionism. Artists like Franz Kline, Mark Toby, Günter Förg and Gerhard Richter push the boundaries of emotional expression and materiality. In their small-scale masterpieces, abstraction becomes a means of personal catharsis, a channel for direct, raw energy. Through spontaneous brushstrokes, and the dissolution of form, these artists created works that were not simply objects of observation but rather experiences to be felt, challenging the very definition of art itself.

From Form to Freedom invites the viewer to reflect on the transformative power of art—how it has moved from structured representation to liberated expression. The exhibition encourages a deep engagement with these intimate works, allowing the viewer to witness firsthand the radical shifts in perception, technique, and purpose that have shaped the visual language of the modern world.
