Solo show in the gallery & the Kulturhaus Helferei
We are delighted to present the second solo exhibition with Leon Löwentraut (*1998).
In addition to his latest paintings and charcoal drawings, his delicate stainless steel sculptures will also be on display.
Ernst Barlach Prize
The Düsseldorf artist was awarded the Ernst Barlach Prize for Fine Arts on December 1, 2023.
This was decided unanimously by the jury of the Ernst Barlach Gesellschaft Hamburg. The Kunstmuseum Wedel is exhibiting more than 70 works by Löwentraut until January 28, 2024. The unendowed prize, which has been awarded since 1995, honors artists for particularly innovative positions.
“Leon Löwentraut shows modern man in all his isolation and fragmentation. And at the same time, he makes this human being a great mystery”,
said the Chairman of the Ernst Barlach Society, Dr. Jürgen Doppelstein, explaining the decision. In doing so, he hits the nerve of the present and inspires young people for art.
