With the opening of an office and exhibition space in Basel, Barr & Ochsner and Galerie WOS embark on an exciting new chapter.
To mark the opening of the new premises, a selection of significant works will be presented, tracing the development of American Abstract Expressionism from the movements of European Cubist painting. The exhibition brings together works by Pablo Picasso, Louis Marcoussis, Albert Gleizes, Jean Crotti and Mario Sironi with works by American artists such as Franz Kline, Mark Tobey and Sam Francis. This creates a fascinating dialogue between the European avant-garde and post-war American art.
During Art Basel, we invite you to our Open House on 19 and 20 June 2026.
The official opening will take place on 2 July 2026 from 5 to 8 pm.

The new location will not only expand the company’s existing activities but also serve as a centre for provenance research – an area that has become increasingly important within the international art market in recent years.
At the same time, the new space is also intended to remain a place for exchange and engagement with art. In collaboration with Galerie WOS, smaller, thematically focused exhibitions are planned on a regular basis.
